SL day Clubs are open to frail and elderly people both Veteran and non Veteran who may be socially isolated and meet the Day Club membership criteria. Members must not require lifting, must be able to toilet, feed and medicate independently and follow the club rules. The clubs are volunteer run and supported by the Dept of Veterans' Affairs and the RSL. The clubs meet one day per week between 10 am and 2 pm and encourage members to be more active, to socialise and promote a sense of belonging. The program includes gentle exercise, mental stimulation, community entertainers and guest speakers. Morning tea and lunch are included and each member pays a nominal fee to cover costs. Special meals will be provided for those with diabetic or digestive problems. Transport is available.
